Some thoughts about this album:

This album is obviously about the Korg ms-20. I gig with this monophonic synth since 2010. It is my instrument the same way others are guitarists and pianists. I like its limitations and its raw sounds.

I'm not a fan of automatic music. I like free jazz and acoustic music because people put effort into producing, physically, a meaningful moment. I like to hear high notes on a trumpet, and I get extra pleasure when I hear the trumpeter's breath gets exhausted on the way. It's not sadistic. It's excitement over the energy! It's about timbre!
So I love effort in music, but I can't really sweat from pressing electric keys and switching knobs. I can't compete with an acoustic instrument in that aspect. But I can have it in mind when I play. I try to keep it as physical and instrumentalist-like as possible within the realm of electronic music.

As a composer I always think about how to fill in all the moments in a musical piece. Sometimes I like to just move from one theme to the next like I was switching TV channels. The last few years I enjoy more repetitive material. I'm focused on making the glitch in the scratched record into a fact in our musical perception. It doesn't need to be a surprise anymore. It can be ingrained in the first time we hum a melody. It can be more of a fact, then a play with expectation.
The material I chose for this album is a collection of melodies that float in my head for years now.
If there is one pleasurable thing for me to do is to play a meaningful repetitive melodic line on the keys while messing with the filters. I could do it for hours, and I hope you enjoy listening to it for hours as well..
